Here at Karri, giving back to the community is a huge part of our company culture. We strive to have at least one #KarriCares campaign running at all times in a bid to raise funds for various charities and organisations across South Africa.
You may recall last year, we ran an initiative to raise money to buy RainPillows for under-resourced schools in the Western Cape.
RainPillows are an innovative water storage device, which captures and stores rain, borehole and grey water, letting you store anything from 500l to 2000l of water. It is a totally flexible, durable and easy to set up PVC pillow that can simply be rolled up and stored when not in use. It’s the perfect temporary water storage solution and ideal for schools.
With your help, we were able to buy six RainPillows which we distributed last week to various schools across the Western Cape, just in time for our winter rains.
We chose to donate to our six RainPillows to the following schools: Imperial Primary School, Hazeldene School, Silverlea Primary School, Belhar Primary School, Gardens Commercial High School and Leap Maths & Science Learning Centre.
Our #KarriCares campaigns have been running for just over 18 months and thanks to your school communities we’ve been able to raise funds for causes such as the Knysna fires, De La Bat School For The Deaf and many others.
Does your charity or organisation need extra help? Do you know someone who could benefit from a #KarriCares collection? We’d love to hear from you! Get in touch with Em today: [email protected]
